Malu Mader comes from Rio de Janeiro's traditional theater school, Tablado, and made her first appearance on stage at the age of 16, when she took part in a production of Monteiro Lobato's "The Twelve Labors of Hercules". Through this work, she was invited to play her first soap opera role, in TV Globo's "Eu Prometo" (I Promise).

She then became nationally known when she took part in the miniseries "Anos Dourados" (1986, TV Globo) and made her debut in national cinema in the feature film "Rock Estrela" (1986, directed by Lael Rodrigues).

In cinema, she stood out in classics such as "Mauá - O Imperador e o Rei" (1999, directed by Sérgio Rezende), "Bellini e a Esfinge" (2001, directed by Roberto Santucci) - for which she was voted Best Supporting Actress by the Brazilian Film Festival of Miami and nominated for the Guarani Award for Best Supporting Actress - and "O Invasor" (2002, directed by Beto Brant) - for which she was nominated for the Grande Otelo Award for Best Supporting Actress.

On television, her career shines with appearances and starring roles in soap operas, series and miniseries on TV Globo. These include: "Ti Ti Ti" (1985), "Anos Dourados" (1986), "Força de um Desejo" (1999), "Celebridade" (2003) and "Eterna Magia" (2007). Among series and miniseries, his appearances in "Os Normais" (2001), "Brava Gente" (2001), "A Comédia da Vida Privada" (2008), among others, stand out.

Exploring the streaming scene, Malu has starred in series such as "Não Foi Minha Culpa" (2022, Star+), "Mila no Multiverso" (2023, Disney+) and "How To be a Carioca" (2023, Star+).
