Tony Bellotto

Tony Bellotto is a songwriter and guitarist for the band Titãs, and a writer. He wrote his first book, Bellini e a Esfinge, based on a police series of the same name. The work was adapted for the cinema as a feature film and won the audience award for best fiction film at the Rio Film Festival. Another book based on the same series, Bellini e o Demônio, was adapted into theaters and nominated for Best Picture at the Fantasporto Festival and the New York Film Festival.

Tony wrote eight more books, two of them being part of the police series Bellini e os Espíritos and Bellini e o Labirinto, and the novels Lô, Machu Picchu and No buraco published by Companhia das Letras. On television, Tony hosted the program Afinando a Língua, on Canal Futura, and scripted an episode of the series Mandrake (HBO) directed by José Henrique Fonseca. He wrote the screenplay for the feature film Mandrake, in collaboration with other writers and directed by José Henrique Fonseca. And he wrote the novel Dom which inspired the Brazilian series of the same name by Amazon Prime Video.
