Marton Olympio

Director and Screenwriter

 

Marton Olympio is a director and screenwriter. He began his career in TV dramaturgy in 2010 with the Série Musas (Canal Brasil), written and directed by him. He was the screenwriter for the sitcom Natália (TV Brasil), critics success and nominated for the best series in the Brazilian Cinema Grand Prix. He was one of those selected in 2011 for the BoliviaLab International Route Laboratory. In 2014 and 2015 he was one of the authors of the series As Canalhas (GNT) - elected as Best TV Show according to Veja Magazine, he was also a screenwriter of the serials Santo Forte (Moonshot/AXN), Jungle Pilot (Giros/Universal), and final writer of the series Prata da Casa (FOX), Natália (season 2), he is the author of the last season of Cidade dos Homens, and one of the authors of the series Os Experientes, both for Globo, he was the head-writer of the series Marielle Franco in 2020.

He wrote and directed the series A Dona da Banca (Cine Brasil TV), still to be released.

In the cinema, he wrote the screenplay for the feature films Sequestro Relâmpago, directed by Tatá Amaral and Alemão 2, by José Eduardo Belmonte.

Marton is the coordinator of the Gullane New Talents Lab and for three years has been a tutor at the Flup Laboratory (Literary Festival of the Peripheries), which had the Narrativas Negras of Viacom screen room as an offshoot. As a director and screenwriter he is writing a new feature film and is the head of a new series for streaming.
