Luciano Vidigal
Luciano Vidigal is a filmmaker and actor who has been a member of Grupo Nós do Morro since 1990. He was the first Brazilian filmmaker from the favela to win an international award for his film “Neguinho e Kika” (2005) at the Marseille Festival in France in 2005. He wrote and directed one of the episodes of the feature film “5X Favela” (2010), which opened the Cannes Film Festival and was produced by Carlos Diegues.
She directed and wrote the short film “Lá do alto” (2016), which won more than 30 awards at national and international festivals. He worked on casting for the film “Cidade de Deus” (2002), by Fernando Meirelles and Kátia Lund, and directed the feature documentary “Cidade de Deus: 10 anos depois” (2012), available on Netflix and Globoplay. He is one of the directors of the TV Globo series “Pais de Primeira” (2018).
He has acted in 46 Brazilian films, including: “Cidade dos Homens” (2007, directed by Paulo Morelli), “Meu Nome Não é Jhonny” (2008, directed by Mauro Lima), “Tropa de Elite 2” (2010, directed by José Padilha), “Mato Sem Cachorro” (2013, directed by Pedro Amorim) and “Três Verões” (2020, directed by Sandra Kogut).
On television, he acted in the soap operas “Malhação” (2019), “Tapas e Beijos” (2013) and “A Favorita” (2013), for Rede Globo; and in “Fora de Controle” (2012), “Chamas da Vida” (2009) and “Vidas Opostas” (2006), for Rede Record. In 2012 he was also a text researcher for Rede Globo's “Esquenta!” program.
He is currently in the post-production process for his next feature film “Kasa Branca”, co-produced by Globo Filmes and Telecine, and the documentary “Se Eu Viver Vai Ser Milagre”, for a streaming platform.
